About the Great Bowden Music Fest
The Great Bowden Music Fest was founded in 2014 and has rapidly become an important part of village life, as well as being a musical event that attracts patrons from all over the East Midlands. Taking place in early July every year, it features leading classical musicians, choirs, jazz musicians and musical theatre artists.
The Music Fest was the brain-child of violinist Christopher White. He says: “When I moved to Great Bowden in July 2011, I was delighted to become a resident of such a model English village, with a beautiful green and church, on the edge of a thriving town. I quickly realised that it would be perfect for a concert series and as a professional violinist, I am delighted that the Great Bowden Music Fest has become an established, well-supported cultural event in the Market Harborough area.”
The Music Fest offers an opportunity to see leading musicians for a very reasonable price, in a beautiful setting. It also features free ‘Coffee and Chamber’ concerts on Saturday and Sunday morning.
Friday night is firmly established as ‘Musicals’ night featuring a celebration of songs from the stage. This has undoubtedly become Great Bowden’s most enjoyed and anticipated contemporary music event.
Saturday is Jazz night which has featured a wide range of jazz artists and styles since the inception of the festival.
